About Charmaine

Hello, I’m
Dr Charmaine Dell
I started my medical journey back in 1995 when I enrolled for Biomedical Laboratory Science in College in Cape Town, South Africa after finishing high school. On completion of my 4-year diploma, I moved to Durban and then subsequently Johannesburg where I had a drive and passion to change career course and become a Chiropractor. I had the opportunity to study at both of the Chiropractic Colleges in South Africa and qualified with a Masters in Chiropractic Degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2005 with my research thesis being recognised at the World Federation of Chiropractic Conference.
I was in private practice in Cape Town but recently moved to Ireland, where I now live in Kilkenny.
In 2020, my interest in sports led me to complete an International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) qualification and I’ve worked closely with various sports athletes back home in Cape Town, and at my local GAA club in Co. Kilkenny.
Early 2022 welcomed a lifelong dream and addition to my career and life.
My love and passion for chiropractic, together with my love for animals saw me qualify as an Animal Chiropractor and received my International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA) accreditation, through Options for Animals, UK.
I currently treat ‘Human’ patients from Kilkenny Chiropractic Clinic in Kilkenny City, ‘Canine’ patients from home and I travel to farms in both local and surrounding counties to treat ‘Equine’ patients.
I love spending time with my family, 2 rescue dogs, Roxy and Ava and 2 cats, Juve and Pixie. I’m also a proud owner of a beautiful retired Appaloosa cross horse called Viceroy and absolutely love horses, dogs and cats…practically anything on four-legs. I also love travel, hiking/outdoors, horse-riding, yoga, karate, reading autobiographies, learning about neuroscience and good food.
